Swedish Handball expands partnership with Solidsport

1600 teams and club channels. Broadcasting more than 40 000 games.
Key results of a four year partnership between the Swedish Handball Federation and Solidsport. Which now will continue for three more years.

In 2018, Swedish handball was one of the first sport federations to sign a streaming partnership with Solidsport, with the innovative ambition of enabling live streaming for handball on all levels.

Four years later, over 40 000 games have been broadcasted on 1600 team, club and event channels, attracting more than 180 000 unique viewers who have consumed over 780 000 hours of live handball.

This has been very important for Swedish handball. We’ve had a fantastic journey together with Solidsport, building a great interest and awareness for handball on a broad level and in a way that has not been possible before.

– Robert Wedberg, Secretary General of Swedish Handball Federation.

But that’s not all.
- It hasn't only been important and appreciated by the audience. This has also helped us to increase the knowledge of handball and developed our sport by also making it possible for all referees, players and coaches to see themselves or analyze others, both live but perhaps above all – on demand.

With four successful years in the books, both parties have agreed on a three year extension with determination to continue to build and develop the home of all live handball across Sweden. On all levels.

– This agreement now means that we can continue to take further steps together, which is fantastic in many ways, Wedberg says.

This is of course a very important extension for us as well. Handball was one of our very first partners and has played a major role in developing this whole concept which today characterizes our entire brand. We have come a long way together while there is still a lot left to do. Something we now have three more years to develop together.

– Tobias Thalbäck, CEO of Solidsport.
