Solidsport and Swedish Floorball Enter Top-to-Bottom Partnership

Swedish Floorball.

The Swedish Floorball Federation and Solidsport are reuniting in a groundbreaking partnership to revolutionize the sport's digital presence and commercial potential like never before. With an all-in-one streaming platform, the entire sport – from grassroots to the elite – will be accessible in one place. The new platform will launch in the 2025/26 season, with AI-powered production playing a central role in the initiative.

Swedish Floorball is taking a bold step into the future through a unique collaboration with Solidsport. A comprehensive digital platform will be built where all floorball matches – from youth leagues to professional divisions – are gathered in one ecosystem. The vision is to create a true digital home for the sport and, ultimately, make all 70,000 annual matches available to everyone.

The platform, set to launch for the 2025/26 season, will serve as the digital hub for Swedish Floorball. Solidsport, which already broadcasts over 10,000 floorball matches annually in partnership with Sweden’s largest youth tournaments, will work closely with the Swedish Floorball Federation to enhance accessibility like never before. At the same time, the new platform will provide stronger revenue opportunities for clubs and organizations at all levels.

This partnership also marks a return to Solidsport for Swedish Floorball. Back in 2011, Solidsport pioneered the sport’s digital transformation, creating one of the first streaming-based revenue models. The company also played a key role in helping the Swedish Super League commercialize its broadcasting rights. Now, this long-standing collaboration is being renewed and expanded on a much larger scale, with a commitment to driving the sport’s future.

A Strategic Initiative to Strengthen the Sport

Through this long-term agreement between the Swedish Floorball Federation and Solidsport, a unified platform will make it easier for everyone to engage with the sport. Instead of relying on multiple subscriptions across different providers, fans will now find everything in one place – from the Swedish Super League to local club matches.

Christer Abrahamsson, Secretary General of the Swedish Floorball Federation, sees this platform as a crucial step forward:

– The goal is to make the sport more accessible and provide the best possible conditions for clubs, players, and fans. This partnership ensures that Swedish Floorball remains in control of its own content and can steer its development both from a sporting and financial perspective.

The new model also allows the federation to decide which matches should be freely available and which should be monetized through a paywall. This approach enables traditional media players, such as SVT and TV4, to continue playing a role in promoting the sport – but on floorball’s own terms.

Solidsport: A Future Where Every Match is Streamed

For Solidsport, this initiative represents the next step in digitizing the sports ecosystem, making it easier for clubs and organizations to produce and distribute their own broadcasts. A key element of this transformation is an extensive investment in AI-powered production, where Solidsport will work alongside the Swedish Floorball Federation and its member clubs to implement cutting-edge automated broadcasting technology.

Johan Lundqvist, CEO of Solidsport, sees enormous potential in this collaboration:

– The quality of automated production is reaching new levels and can already, in many cases, rival traditional manual productions. This allows for a much broader coverage of matches with high-quality broadcasts at significantly lower costs, meaning more revenue flows back into the sport. That’s why all stakeholders are committed to making AI-powered production a key focus in this partnership.

The new platform will offer various production levels, ranging from advanced AI-driven solutions to full-scale TV productions, ensuring that every club can showcase their matches in a way that suits their needs.

A Financial Boost for the Sport

Beyond accessibility, this agreement has a clear financial goal: to create sustainable revenue streams for the entire floorball community. By enabling clubs to monetize their broadcasts – from grassroots to the highest level – this initiative is not only about digital transformation but also about securing the sport’s financial future.

Emil Risberg, Chairman of the Swedish Super League, sees significant opportunities for elite clubs:

– Taking control of broadcasts is a major step forward. It allows for a wider reach while creating new revenue opportunities for clubs. Financial sustainability is a challenge for many elite teams, and this initiative is an important part of the solution.

More information about the platform and its rollout will be presented in the coming months.
