Swedish Badminton extends partnership with Solidsport

The Swedish Badminton Federation has since 2018 built up a streaming service for badminton at all levels together with Solidsport. A successful partnership that now is extended for two new years.

In total, more than 50,000 hours of badminton have been consumed by over 100,000 unique viewers on all badminton streaming channels, since the partnership with Solidsport began four years ago.

Something that started with the Swedish highest leagues for both men and women before many other teams and clubs joined and started to broadcast their own games and events.

The opportunity to watch live games during the season has been very important and contributes to increasing interest in badminton. It means a lot for the teams and everyone else that wants to follow the games, even when they are playing away at the same time as it generates income for the clubs.

– Åsa Strindlund Secretary General of the Swedish Badminton Federation.

The Badminton Federation now has the opportunity to continue to develop their streaming platform after extending the partnership with Solidsport for another two years.

– We're very pleased with the partnership with Solidsport and look forward to our continued cooperation together. They have since the start offered us very good support with all events, which has been very appreciated and will help us produce even more and better broadcasts in the future, Strindlund says.

Swedish Badminton has made an exciting journey with us and has managed to broadcast all the games from the highest leagues, several Swedish Championship finals and many other events in a way that has not been possible before. We’re of course proud to have been involved and contributed to that journey and now look forward to continuing to develop this together with the Swedish Badminton Federation.

–Tobias Thalbäck, CEO of Solidsport.
