Gothenburg Basketball Festival ready for record party on Solidsport

2000 games. 720 teams. Over 8000 participants.
Gothenburg Basketball Festival is ready to host a record big edition during 2022 and at the same time broadcast the whole festival on Solidsport – live from 35 courts.

After two canceled tournaments because of the ongoing pandemic, Gothenburg Basketball Festival is ready to invite 720 teams to a record edition during 2022, playing over 2000 games on 35 courts during 26-29th of May.

But that’s not all. After signing a three year partnership with Solidsport, the ambition is also to broadcast every single game from all courts for the first time in the tournament's 40 year old history.

We are more motivated than ever to host one of the largest youth basketball tournaments in Europe. This edition will be huge in several ways and it feels great that we can now share all the excitement live for all of those who can’t travel to Gothenburg, thanks to the partnership with Solidsport.

– Carina Peleg, Tournament General.

With over 400 tournaments, thousands of teams and clubs and over 50 000 broadcasted games during 2021 across the Nordics and German market, Solidsport is today Europe’s leading sport streaming platform.

– We have extensive experience of working with the largest tournaments and sporting events on an international scale. Now we look forward to welcoming and supporting one of the most famous and finest basketball tournaments in the world. This will be a festival to remember, says Tobias Thalbäck, CEO of Solidsport.

Göteborg Basketball Festival is one of Europe’s largest youth tournaments in basketball. The tournament started in 1979 and is always held during Ascension weekend. The tournament is organized by Högsbo Basket with the help of other basketball clubs in the Gothenburg area.
